Is innocence something we really 'lose' or does it simply blossom into a broader understanding? Which is better, innocence or seeing the world as it is?
This is an outstanding piece of yours! There are so many things that one can think while staring at it that can't be said in a sentense alone. So, allow me to proceed with the critique.
First of all, about the vision. It is a high quality picture with a very good use of brushes and textures. The shading and the colouring are fine. The anatomy is good. The only thing that might need a small edit are the lips. They're a bit too big for the face. If they were to be a little smaller, that would help out the picture. The hair looks natural, but if they were a little more detailed, it would add more to their wavy nature. The rose's shading is too detailed. I can say you did a very good job.
About the originality of this piece. I can say it's original, since you haven't used the pose as much and you seem to have a unique point of view on the subject. The way you express "innocence" is through the mirror of "being tanted", wondering weather it survives or not. According to this piece, it is being evolved into another level of understanding.
Moving to the technique you've used, it can be seen that you're skilled enough to successfully use textures, shade properly beyond the average and colour really nice. The only thing that needs a small edit is the hair. They have to be a little more detailed. And the lips, just like I've stated before. They have to get a little smaller.
Finally, the impact of this piece is big. The picture alone can be seen clearly by the viewer, without making him misunderstand the subject nor the message. The only thing that keeps it from being great, a 10/10 is the monochrome scale. If you could make the background a bit more vivid along with the girl's hair and clothing, I'd be perfect.
Overall, it's an amazing piece and there are not so many things you need to change. You did an increadible job!
Firstly i would like to say what a beautiful piece of art work this is. I love the colours and the textures you have used on her, i think it is fantastic. The hair texture is also amazing and her expression shows a varied emotion. Maybe you could just by the undercut of her hair add a slightly darker shade of pink to show a small amount of shadow inside. Also maybe a bit more shading round her legs. But apart from that, it is a wonderful piece of art work and i look forward to seeing more from you!
I really love achromatic scheme in this. But then I'm biased because pink is one of my favorite colors lol. But still...is this for a school assignment? It's been a while since I've seen anyone on my DA watch-list do art that isn't just fan art or whatever. I like how the rose is use as a symbolism for innocence, yet it is a juxtaposition to the woman's appearance (wearing skin-tight clothing; not exactly something that's innocent). This is a great art piece!
